Meet The Team – David Lawrence

People are a large part of what we do here at Road Traffic Solutions. Through 2020 we wanted to take the time to introduce some of them to you in a short Meet The Team series.
Introducing: David Lawrence
Nickname: ‘Lozza’ – this has stuck since junior school
Position within Road Traffic Solutions: Scunthorpe Depot Manager
Length of time with Road Traffic Solutions: 11 years
What do you do on a day-to-day basis within your job?
On a day to day basis my role is to make sure that all TMOs have the correct equipment to carry out their daily job roles. Our bespoke REPS system allows me to do this by checking stock, drawings and making sure all RAMS are kept in line with the jobs we service throughout the country. Over the course of the year we have a large number of sporting events which I currently take a lead with all Special Legend sign making and making sure we have the correct Chapter 8 equipment to carry out all tasks.
What do you like about working at Road Traffic Solutions?
The opportunities that RTS has given me are endless. I have progressed/developed through a number of job roles inc CAD drawer, TMO, Event Supervisor, Event Planner and now my current role of Scunthorpe Depot Manager.
RTS have also put me through a number of courses; First Aid Course, Class 2 license, Forklift License, 12A IPV Foreman and many other Lantra approved qualifications which I am grateful for.
I enjoy working in Traffic Management as I get to see new places within the UK, and the fact that all jobs are never the same. It allows me to adapt to the situation that I am put in.

What is your favourite quote?

What is your favourite song, film or book and why?
“Amazed” by Lonestar as this was my first dance with my wife!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
Spending time with my wife, Sarah, and two children, Scarlett and Oscar, they make me the man I am today. Am also a big sports fan and enjoy watching a number of sports in my spare time.
Give a fact about yourself nobody else knows:
I once went on holiday to Kavos when I was 17, on my own as my mate forgot his passport.
