RTS Supporting C.A.L.M. (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

4 June 2020

Last year members of The Road Traffic Solutions team committed to run the North Lincolnshire Half Marathon for charity. Due to coronavirus, the event organisers unfortunately have postponed the event until later in the year (review pending).

As a result; Cheryl, Dan, Lee, Alex, Dave, Brad, Lee & Liam have opted to channel their energy into the 2.6 challenge (#twopointsixchallenge).

It’s been estimated that UK charities may miss out on as much as $4 billion of income due to COVID19, with the decline of the 2020 event season being a huge contributor to this. The 2.6 campaign was launched by a number of our clients, and encourages people of all ages and abilities to exercise; the aim being to base any activity around the numbers ‘2’ and ‘6’ in reference to Sunday 26th April, the date London Marathon should have been run.

The Road Traffic Solutions team have decided to take the challenge on collectively. Their aim, to run a marathon, 26 miles, every week, for 26 weeks! Our charity of choice is CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). CALM is leading a movement against suicide. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK, and the cause of 18 deaths every day. If you’d like to donate towards this fantastic charity please visit our justgiving page HERE.
